The Kreatik Team regularly tries to help the local community. This time we decided to work with Fundacja Dom Autysty – a foundation helping autistic children.
The Dom Autysty was established by a group of parents who want to secure the future of their autistic children once they complete their education, and especially in the case their parents pass away. The Foundation has conducted numerous initiatives to collect funds and right now, its main goal is building a facility for its patients. To help with fundraising, the Foundation came up with an idea to promote its efforts by publishing a collection of short stories by leading Polish writers of criminal literature.
Thanks to the support of the Media Rodzina publishing house, a collection of stories was published with the promise of sales profits going to the Foundation’s initiative. We took care of promoting the book.
We decided to approach the book promotion in a non-standard way. We chose one of the ten criminal stories comprising the book and, based on the plot, we created an interactive chat story. For this purpose, we used Progressive Web App (PWA) – an innovative type of web application that allows to transform a regular website into a powerful app-like experience.
PWA provides numerous benefits of native apps for Android such as ability to put an shortcut icon on the phone’s home screen without the hassle of purchasing and downloading through the Play Store. Furthermore, a PWA website is significantly faster compared to regular websites, it’s easier to develop compared to a native app. On top of that, the PWA technology allows for sending push notifications just as you would in a regular app.
As far as the plot for the chat story is concerned, the site visitor became the main character and had an impact on the storyline picking the sides and choosing the paths as the story went. We let the user face moral dilemmas, hard choices and their consequences until the last message. In order to move the story forward, you had got to be entangled!
Regional newspapers wrote about us (Gazeta Wyborcza in Poznan, Głos Wielkopolski) and we were also mentioned on the following websites: Nowy Marketing, Wykop, Fakt24, Wirtualna Polska, Gazeta. Our campaign was shared by Polish celebrities on their profiles, Bartłomiej Topa, Paweł Tkaczyk, youtubers, bloggers, and tens of other people with big hearts who are not indifferent to the patients of the Dom Autysty Foundation.
